It’s Saturday of the Easter long weekend, and the girls are both a bit cranky due to teething and coughs, so we decide to take them out to burn off some energy. It *freezing* outside, so we bundled them up and headed to the local conservation area. We had a great time playing at the park, then headed home, driving though Tim Hortons on the way. We picked up small hot chocolates for the girls, and were going to give them their first taste when we got home.
Both girls were really excited because they thought it was “Froffie” (coffee) in their cups. Willow was an instant fan. She gleefully pronounced, “Mmmm… Froffie Yummy!!!” She kept throwing her head back to drink it sippy-cup-style though. That created quite a bit of splash-back on her face, but she got a hang of it quickly. Hailie decided to take a more laid back approach, and sip hers from a spoon. Of course this required the lid to be off, so you can probably guess where this is going.
Hailie knocked over her hot chocolate, and was really heart broken. She was crying i-just-lost-my-ice-cream tears
I poured my hot chocolate in to her cup, and she recovered quickly. This time she drank with the lid on, pausing to exclaim, “Froffie good!” with an enthusiastic nod. When she was almost done, she spilled the hot chocolate again, this time all over herself, and everything within splash distance. We changed into pajamas, and two tired but content toddlers went to bed.
